Performance comparison between bag air duct and common air duct

August 23, 2022

1 , noise reduction performance;

Galvanized thin steel plate duct: no muffling performance, its own vibration will produce sound, must be installed with a muffler.   Inorganic FRP duct: no noise reduction performance, sound insulation performance is better than galvanized thin steel duct, must be installed with muffler.   Composite fiberglass duct: its wall is a porous sound absorbing material, which can eliminate the need for a dedicated muffler.

Bag air duct : the tube wall is a flexible fiber fabric, which is a poor conductor and absorber of sound itself. It does not produce sound by itself, and can absorb equipment noise to some extent. With the extension of the pipeline, the effect is more obvious, and the effect can be saved. Go to the dedicated muffler.

2 , insulation performance:

Galvanized sheet metal duct: a large coefficient of thermal conductivity (of 60.4 W / m K?), No insulation performance, the insulation layer must additionally packet and a protective layer.

Inorganic fiberglass duct: and high thermal conductivity (to 0.5W / m K?), No insulation performance.

Composite fiberglass duct: The thermal conductivity is small ( less than 1 W/m?K at an average temperature of 24 °C ) . It has a certain thermal insulation performance and no thermal insulation.

Bag duct: The purpose of duct insulation is to prevent energy loss and condensation on the surface of the duct. The bag air duct utilizes the permeability of the fiber in the pipe wall to form a cold gas layer on the surface of the pipe wall, so that there is substantially no temperature difference between the inside and outside of the pipe wall, thereby preventing condensation (the greater the material permeability, the smaller the temperature difference between the surface and the interior of the pipe , the less easy Condensation). This method also eliminates the need to install an insulation layer outside the pipe wall.

3 , fire performance

Galvanized sheet steel duct: non-combustible, but its true fire performance depends on the insulation layer.   Inorganic FRP duct: Same as galvanized thin steel duct.

Composite fiberglass duct: The outer layer is aluminum foil, and the non-combustible glass fiber cotton board is used as the base material, which has good fireproof performance.

Bag air duct : The fireproof characteristics of the bag air duct depend on the fiber material, and the bag air duct adopts a unique permanent flame retardant polyester fiber, which meets the GB8624-2006 B1 fireproof standard. ( Materials with fire rating up to Class A standard, glass fiber materials, no anti-condensation, poor anti-aging ability, short life, not recommended in air-conditioned places) 4 , moisture resistance

Galvanized steel sheet duct: susceptible to rust and corrosion.

Inorganic FRP duct: Due to the restriction of raw material ratio, the stability of moisture resistance is poor.

Composite fiberglass duct: no perishable materials and components, but because it is a porous material, it is not recommended for long-term wet conditions.

Bag duct: The material has the best moisture resistance and can be used for a long time in high humidity environment such as swimming pool, food factory and textile factory.

5 , strength

Galvanized thin steel duct: high strength and strong anti-static pressure.   Inorganic FRP duct: high strength and fragile impact resistance.

Composite fiberglass duct: It can meet the pressure requirements of general ventilation and air conditioning, and can withstand wind pressure up to 1500Pa .   Bag duct: flexible material with a pressure resistance greater than 2000Pa .

6 , weight

Galvanized thin steel plate duct: the bulk density is 7870kg/m3 ,   The weight per unit area is from 10kg/m2 to 16kg/m2 .   Inorganic FRP duct: The bulk density is 2100kg/m3 , and the weight per unit area is 11kg/m2 23kg/m2 .   Composite fiberglass duct:   The weight is 64kg/m3 .   The weight per unit area is 2.8 kg/m2 .

Bag air duct: the weight per unit area is less than 0.25kg/m2 7 , cleaning and maintenance

Galvanized thin steel plate duct : It needs to use advanced air duct cleaning technology, which is costly and has a long cycle.   Inorganic FRP duct: same iron duct

Composite fiberglass duct: due to its antibacterial treatment, bacterial mold is not easy to breed, but it is not suitable for cleaning.   Bag air duct: directly put into the industrial washing machine to clean, easy to disassemble. 8 , construction and installation

Galvanized thin steel plate duct: The pipeline is heavy, the production and installation cycle is long, and the pipe size and direction change are laborious. The insulation layer is installed on site after the air duct is installed, and the process is cumbersome.

Inorganic FRP duct: The pipe is heavy, difficult to handle, and has high strength, but it is relatively fragile and vulnerable to collision and cracking. The production cycle is long, and the pipe size and direction change are time-consuming. Both anechoic and thermal insulation are the same as galvanized steel sheets.
